Soaked it under the tap for ten seconds before our hike, and the cooling effect actually lasted a good hour while we were climbing. My dog seemed way more comfortable on the sunny parts of the trail, and the tie stayed snug without rubbing her neck.

My pup actually kept his tongue in his mouth for a solid mile after I soaked this and tied it on—the cooling effect really does last. He even posed for a summit selfie without trying to shake it off.
